Thanks for the help in terms of questions to ask my GP

i took your advice about my dosage being low and finally managed to get to see my GP today. She has moved me back to 10mg from 7.5mg and wants to see me again in 4 weeks. I explained that i had loads of pain in my shoulders and hips as well as concrete legs so hopefully increasing the dosage will help me again. I have been trying to be active where i can but really struggling this week.

This forum is such a great support understanding what others are going through and getting advice so thank you.

Well done. I hope you feel better for it. 🌻

Well done and I do hope that is enough. But don't panic about being more active - keep it gentle. Walking and even stretching in a warm shower will help more than any more intensive movement.

Glad we were of help & as PMRPro says take it easy & let the extra do its work & then you will feel better 🌷🌷🌷

Just think, PMR impairs the oxygen supply to the muscles, so never overdo it.

Gardening, 10 mins work, 10 mins sit..............learn to place yourself.

So glad you got the answer you needed from the GP.

Don't worry too much about the exercise levels over the next two weeks but do gentle activity and just small joint rotations and little potterings about to keep active and reduce stiffness while the steroids reduce that pain and inflammation.

When the new dose has that under control you will start filling able to build chores , activities and exercise slowly back into your routine.

Just remember to balance rest and activity even on your " good" days , as sometimes when the pain goes you are tempted to jump back into business as usual and then end up paying for it.

Getting the balance right and being patient with the PMR and yourself are key to keeping the PMR under control in a way you can eventually start to taper very slowly with success.

Take care and well done you x
