Have a look at this and see if it rings any bells. Tightness in the sternokleidomastoid muscle have cause headaches and various other symptoms. What do you do in the day? What helps the headache?

You may have felt well enough at home - but 5 hours in the work environment is a very different thing. And you'll be sitting looking at a computer????

think ya prob right I'm on a very slow phased. tbh spoke Occie Health again yesterday. my job which I love and I look like we will have part company. ..the lights in the hospital ,the noise levels...and the eventual 12.5 hour shifts..end April..for theese..

I think this sounds like a repetitive strain injury because you are doing close computer work for a continuous period and concentrating hard. If you can, get away from the screen every couple of hours and have a walk around, it would be a big help.. Is there a physio that can give you some neck exercises? I wonder if there is some kit that would help? You ought to be able to get an ergonomic assessment at your work station. Is your chair at the right height for your screen? Would speaking technology help rather than typing? Do you continue this at home? I realise that I had a bad habit at work of leaning my head back and thinking. I am paying for this now. A walk with your dogs could be good unless they pull a lot as mine always did, and ran off - she was a rescue hooligan though very sweet and funny. Do you get a proper break within your 5 hours work? Also you may not be taking quite enough Pred to cover your needs. All things to look at.

"when I spoke to GP I got...doctors know wat they doing ..."

If only when it comes to tapering pred!

There you have it I think. Perhaps try a little more Pred when you feel the pain starting, as well as looking at your workstation. It is your right under the Equalities Act - reasonable adjustments. It beats me how you even work. I had to drop everything.

I once retrieved Rosie (dog) from a local florist trailing lilac ribbon after she had plunged into the undergrowth in our Victorian Cemetery .I miss her but she was a complete idiot.

lol . thats funny.mmI'm not surebif I'm stubborn or stupid...maybe a little in denial that this has changed me...trying to explain to hubby things like..NO I CANT read the tiny writing on a jar now..not even with my glasses AND YES I do have to sit this way due to the loss of some sight in my left eye..lol

I can relate to the denial regarding these illnesses. It took me a long time to accept that this is me now and then I began to take care of myself and lean heavily on this forum.

You may have dry eyes, I use Thea Loz Duo dry eye drops, they really help. I also see my optician every few months for a thorough eye check. Prednisalone can cause blurry vision that improves as you lower the dose. We need to be alert for glaucoma and cataracts too. My eyesight is settled now. I am on 5 mgs of Pred.

If it was me, I'd also be looking at whether I am drinking enough water and/or whether I have undiagnosed Iscopic sensitivity (also known as Meares-Irlen Syndrome) first.

If you click/tap on the Reply box immediately under a reply, your comment will be directed to the person you are "speaking" to and actually say who it is for which makes it clear. Otherwise it is assumed a reply is for the person who originated the thread, in this case, you!

Hi alliekat-I could go into it at great length here, but you will get a more cogent explanation by "googling" and looking at the Irlen website.

Hi Alliekat! 4 pm is when I get a low in blood sugar, and I get a slight headache & feel like a spider's crawling through RHS of my scalp. I'm not as active as you, but spend far too much time looking at computer screen and knitting. 20 minutes max when I remember, then 20 mins pottering around. Seems to help.

I struggle all the time with night time headaches. It starts for me at about 8pm but can go all night long. Sometimes it starts at 3:30am or 4am and I will take 5mg steroids + Tylenol.

A friend of mine mentioned dehydration as a possibility so I started drinking way more water than I was and it seems to have helped. When I was on higher doses, I drank more water but haven't been drinking as much on the lower dose of 12.5mg etc. I think water with electrolytes helps. Wishing you the best
