Tingling and pricking

Hi friends

Two weeks ago I started with tingling and pricking in my feet, legs, arms and hands. When I lie down at night it is also in most of my torso and a bit in my face. Occasionally I get little stabs in my feet. It comes and goes every few days and lasts a couple of days. Massage helps. It does not correspond to a taper withdrawal period.

Over previous months I had this a few times at night when my whole body seemed to prick and tingle but it was gone by the morning. I put it down to lower doses of pred.

I am now on 1.5mg after 3 years for GCA and a bit of PMR. Otherwise feel ok. It is very unlikely to be T2 or B12, though I will ask for bloods.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what this could be and what I could do next.?

Thank you.

I would get my doctor to look into it. You may need the input of a neurologist.

Thanks, SJ, GP has ordered bloods and says if they don't throw anything up, she will refer to a neurologist. Atypical symptoms apparently.

Sheffield Jane is right on. See a neurologist. This nerve misfiring does not sound normal or treatable on your own. One of my best friends has this problem. She has been prescribed Lyrica.

I was complaining of the same sensation over a month ago.I happened to see on a post that with taking prednisone we should be taking b12.I started to take it and it pretty much has taken it away.Good luck!

Glad it worked for you. I'm already prescribed B12 and usual fine levels, but perhaps something has changed.

I am guessing the prednisone takes away a lot from our bodies.Hope you sort it out!!!

I agree, you might want to consult a neurologist as suggested. Could be a number of things. Do you have any back issues or diabetes as either of those could also cause nerve pain. Hope you find out what's causing it. I hated that pins and needles type nerve pain. Mine went after spinal nerve decompression x

Not back issues, was prediabetic but back at normal levels now so doc does not think it's that - we'll see. Hope it's something obvious. Thank you.
