Woke up yesterday very dizzy. Threw up my coffee. Went back to bed and slept three hours. Felt well enough to go to a friend’s house for dinner. Slept about nine hours. Dizzy again and very tired. No coughing, congestion, fever, sore throat. It has been about three weeks since I cut steroids to 5 mgs methylpred. Is this the famous adrenal fatigue?

Feeling adrenal fatigue?
They are fairly typical symptoms of adrenal insufficiency so it could well be your body protesting. The term "adrenal fatigue" is a bit of a misnomer - you get fatigued when your adrenal glands aren't performing as well as they should be. But the term adrenal fatigue as used all over the internet tends to be a marketing strategy for supplements. The adrenal glands don't get fatigued by working hard - but it is a popular concept,
ok. well if not adrenal fatigue, how about a me fatigue. just woke up at 4 pm from about a two-hour nap.
Lots of people on the forum do that!!! But yes - you are probably right it could be sluggish adrenals, Did you cut the dose overnight or did you use a slowed taper to ease into the new lower dose gradually? And how much did you reduce?
I was trying to differentiate between the concept of fatigue due to sluggish return of adrenal function and the popular idea of "adrenal fatigue" as touted in the psuedo-medical field which doesn't really exist!
It could be one of the many bugs floating around at the moment such as Nora virus.
