Has anyone experienced confusion and memory loss as a result of GCA. And also lack of concentration just wondering how prelevant these symptoms can be?

Confusion and concentration

I always put it down to the pred
Before diagnosis with GCA I found my short term memory and concentration a big concern. I would my thread and word recall in a conversation quite badly. Once in Pred it was bad from a general buzzy fog. It improved as the dose reduced and I didn’t go back to the pre-diagnosis issues. So for me it was both.

Brain fog is very common. It can be due to the GCA but also to pred in some people - so sometimes there is a double whammy.

Very common with an chronic disease…and Pred doesn’t help -

You're at an early stage so on high doses of pred. It's probably mainly that and will improve as you taper. Once off the high doses, I didn't get any of those you mention, except for memory loss as in the recall a word for several minutes type thing, but age is probably playing a part.
I fatigue very quickly. That's when the brain fog develops, too. Daily prednisolone delayed the onset of both.
