When I got home yesterday evening, with memory of my exhausted son and his family I told myself not to feel bad that I hadn't helped more. Reminded myself of all those years when I'd done virtually all the Christmas work, from buying gifts, wrapping them, purchasing the Christmas food and cooking it, including for quite a few years the nuisance of roasting goose as none of us care much for turkey, and I remembered my father cooking goose for New Year. Decorating the tree although in later years my daughter took over much of that, as I became less enthusiastic. All those years of trying to make Christmas perfect. Payback time. 😊

I felt the same and proud of how organised and efficient my middle daughter is. Dare I say a smoother operation than mine ever was. There’s evolution for you. I was still as exhausted as if I had done it all though. Happy new year! Our job is done! 😊
