over the 5years I have been fighting with pred I have come to the conclusion that I (you) know your body better than anyone and in my experience do what works for your body!
don’t try to reduce too quickly you need to give your body time to accept the lower dose. I give myself 4 to 6 weeks to adjust to the new dose.
Listen to your body,,good luck

I totally agree as only we can know exactly how we feel from day to day! I’ve been on Pred for 5 years & thanks to this great forum, I’ve found my own way re reducing etc as I’ve had very little communication from the rheumatologist! Now on 0.5mg & see an end in sight 💪
Totally agree, save for the fact that everyone’s brain is wired differently and whereas some can live with some temporary discomfort and even pain when tapering down, for others this will be difficult to cope with and they will reach back for that pain free feeling you get with the steroids. My rheumatologist and also the GP explained to me that in some cases this is a similar pattern to what happens with pain killers… having said all that, they also say that PMR does sometimes never go away and also can come back, but (according to them) in 80% plus cases it goes away after two years on average. Science cannot yet explain this because it’s a symptomatic condition, ie, symptoms are similar but the underlying causes vary considerably and most times are never diagnosed.
