Do you mean the basics? Like we have all got PMR or GCA or have recovered. The people who offer advice do so on a voluntary basis. The supportive nature of the Forum evolved organically. We are not medical but there is a lot of collective experience and knowledge. There are people who keep on top of the latest research. For the history of the origins you will have to ask PMRPro who has been involved since the beginning.

Anyone can join and ask as many questions as they need too. Obviously they would have the conditions we talk about. FAQs contains useful information that is there on this front page for anyone to access. This is all free but most of us join the Charity and pay the small subscription - this adds to our success and the profile of our relatively rare diseases and their drugs. I hope this is what you meant.

Just to add to SheffieldJane, HealthUnlocked hosts forums from all sorts of different groups. This forum is run by volunteers wearing the badge of PMRGCAUK charity. It is hoped but not demanded that those who use this site join the charity if they are able.

Or do you mean how does PMR & GCA work?

If you mean your illness this might help -

If you mean the forum, this might help -

You can’t break anything so just have a look -

Do you have PMR or GCA? If not this board is probably not of interest to you.

GCA comes up under health interests on profile… not that means they actually have it 🤔
