Do you feel you fit the necessary requirements to get PIP?

I inow I don’t although I probably did before diagnosis so have never applied for it.

If you feel you do fit them then try but I don’t think many here get it

You may as well try. You never know you may be lucky. I assume you are under state pension age?

Go for it. The worst that can happen is they say No and they may say yes.

Always worth a try, but it’s not a given. …and when you complete forms you need to state how you feel on a bad day.

You can check for your eligibility here. you need to expect to have the same level of disability for 9 months going forward.

You do not need to have all the needs listed. There are 2 components, care needs and mobility. You need to get 8 points for either. Half the points for mobility depend on how you cope with being outside mentally. If your mobility problems are purely physical, you will need to be able to stand and move unaided no more than 50 metres at a reasonable rate without stopping because of pain or breathlessness, and be able to repeat that within a reasonable time frame.

If you do apply, then you should take someone with you to the assessment, whether it is face-to-face, or on the phone; unfortunately, many people find the assessors report bears little relation to what was said in the interview.

My sister gets PIP she has RA, over the years she has learned one thing about claiming it. Always tell them how you are on a bad day not a good day! Be careful some can try and trap you. Good luck
