I have GCA and PMR and the GCA is much better thanks to Actemra (tocilizumab) injections. I have recently reduced to one every four weeks. On the last day before the injection the right side of my scalp and temple was really sore to the touch.Luckily was gone by morning and I am fine now. I do still get really tired if I do too much. My husband has just been made Mayor and I will be Mayoress but although I should be thrilled I am worried about how I will cope. We have had no preparation, it happened so suddenly and I have to sort out clothes etc. It is thrilling but why am.i so scared!

Can I cope?
It would be surprising if you weren't feeling a little overwhelmed. All you can do is what you can do. Once you find what the timetable is you can make decision about your level of input. 👍👸🤴
Remember all you've learned about pacing and resting and plan it all around those occasions where you are going to have to exert yourself, bearing in mind that these conditions are not predictable and you might suddenly need to rest when it's inconvenient. If you can, get other people to do all the housework and order groceries and new clothes online so you can devote your energy to your mayoral duties.
Congratulations to your husband by the way.
Of course you’ll cope! Just extra planning and delegation needed. What an honour for your husband and you. Enjoy every minute of your year!
You will be just fine! How exciting for you. Ensure you keep control of your diary for pacing. Do use ( if poss.) your elevated position to draw attention to our condition 😇. Can you arrange a meeting with your predecessor? I find that information calms me down. Congratulations to you and your OH!
Ditch the boring stuff and enjoy the Mayoral as much as you can. X
