I couldn’t get along with Calcium supplements, mainly because of bladder irritation. My GP took me off them. I now take vit D supplements on prescription and vit K2 from advice on here. Heron has written a comprehensive post on improving bone density, it is in FAQs I believe. Vit K2 helps with the adsorption of Calcium. I like dairy and eat a diet rich in calcium. My bone scans show a little bit of Osteopenia.

Thanks, maybe that might be the best way to go and maximise my dietary intake.

Hi, I haven’t tried loooking lately but I think you are right. I was prescribed d3 on its own prior to my PMR diagnosis and I remember looking for calcium supplements. I mentioned it to my doctor on diagnosis of PMR and Accrete d3 was prescribed which is d3/calcium carbonate

Buy the supplements you want separately. I take 4000 IU vit D which you won't find in any combined supplememt. Like SJ, I don't take a calcium supplement since it caused bladder problems so I make sure I have a good dietary level - it isn't difficult to reach. I get through a litre of milk every 4 days, I only use it in cups of tea, and that gets me about a fifth of the RDA without even trying! I don't just use yoghurt, I really like Skyr and kefir too. And it is a great excuse to eat cheese ...

I came across keffir yogurt the other day by mistake. I was just buying ordinary yogurt. The Keffir is much nicer in my opinion.

Isn't it? Though I do usually use Greek yoghurt and it has similarities.

They do call it Greek Keffir on the label, so it looks like Greek yogurt and tastes nicer!

Haven't see that - wonder if it has reached here.

It is quite new here. The one I get is Tim’s Dairy. Possibly a new idea.
