Depends how many days you've been on the increased dose - but as Pred is used to control inflammation one would hope so…and it obviously is working as you feel better. Unless you happen to be one of those patients whose inflammation markers are not raised with the symptoms.

SED rate can be a bit slower than CRP at showing your inflammation. The important thing is how do you feel. I often have high inflammation levels but feel fine.

How long have you been on the pred? And how significant does your rheumy regard blood markers as being? Good doctors know that the improvement in your symptoms trumps any lab results. Shame someone hadn't managed to take a sample before the pred was started. At what dose did the flare happen?

I meant the 20mg dose, sorry, I realise it wasn't clear.

been there. once the flare is resolved I went back to my “maintenance dose” of 2.5. Then no problems. Good luck!
