My Free T4 is normal, but my TSH has risen quickly and is now 13.5. Instead of feeling sluggish, like I'd think I would with hypothyroidism, I'm super nervous with breathlessness, shakiness and as if my heart is racing. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think you are in the wrong place here - there are a few people with thyroid problems but really not much of a problem here, You would be better in the Thyroid forum

PMR is right of course however I am in both.

I have the same thing. Your TSH needs attention, I have had a consultation with an Endocrinologist and have been told to reduce my thyroxine, it’s feels counter intuitive but it’s the right thing to do. Perhaps go back to your GP. It shouldn’t be left and can be sorted

Good luck 🥂

So you're saying that even though I am hypothyroid, I need to REDUCE my thyroxine? Seems like I'm always either increasing or decreasing it, without its ever being stable.

Yes I was told my THS was too high and I had to reduce it and to go from 150 micrograms to a 100. I have recently developed atrial fibrillation and was told my thyroid is having an effect on that. Most confusing 🥂

If your TSH is high you need to take more thyroxine to lower it. There can be no doubt about this. I have been dealing with this for 50 years. It's better to see an endocrinologist than a GP. I did get atrial fibrillation for a few months when my TSH went too low, unbeknownst to me. I had changed brands and the new brand was being absorbed slightly better, which over 5 months became a TSH of 0.12. My doctor prefers a TSH between 0.5 - 2.0.

So, TSH high, need more thyroxine. TSH too low, take less thyroxine.
