Had appointment with doctor's to day

Migraine looks like it is back going to carry on co- codamol as she is loathe to add more drugs

Thyroid boarder line again but she has started me on thyroxin 25mg

Question how will pred react with this mix

I've been on thyroxine for a lot longer than I have steroids, but has made no difference either way round.

I have been on thyroxine for at least 20 years, and only 4 on pred. Neither of the GPs I see has suggested that I need to change anything. Currently I'm on 100mcg of thyroxine.

You mean don't take the tablets at the same time though don't you?

It's possible that you may do better - the entire endocrine set-up involves both thyroid and adrenals as well as other organs and if one bit is out of kilter it affects all the others. If you are hypothyroid then helping that out may also help reduce the need for pred.

I'm on 100- 135 Mcg thyroxine since 1995. Now taking 135 mcgs.

It's a very "delicate" drug that doesn't like to be mixed with certain drugs or any food, so try hard to take it on an empty stomach (1 hr before or after meals). Also don't take it within an hour of any calcium supps.

Consequently, it's hard to find a good time to take it! I ended up taking it in the afternoon. Not sure if you should take it at same time as pred -- I do.

Most important thing is to be consistent about how & when you take it. I had a lot of bouncing up & down in my TSH levels (worse before my PMR dx), so now I'm careful to take it on an empty stomach. I should probably not take it w the pred, but timing all this is a challenge! :)

I do find that I feel the effects of the thyroxine more now that I'm on pred (a good thing!). Thyroxine should make you feel better in general and helps your energy, but not immediately.
