Hi everyone. I changed my eating habits last November (ish) and have lost 23lbs since.
I was not overly overweight but was looking a bit too big for my liking SO... me being a vegan of many years and many decades decided to drop potatoes and bread at first and also a bowl of cereal before I went to bed.
I've never been a big eater just trough cereal and almond milk and toast ++++
Hola! I didn't notice at first but after a month my jeans and training pants started to feel loose so I weighed myself and had lost 5 lbs.
Now? 23lbs have gone and I feel so much better. I have had to spend a shed load of ££ on new clothes.
I am so happy. My pre-diabetes has gone too.
We went to Bath for our 30th anniversary June 1st and I managed to not go on an E Scooter (remember last year?) I did have a lunch curry with Liz and at dinner/supper time a bowl of fresh fruit with milled flax seeds scattered all over.
Now? I have thin skin I'm pretty sure of that... On my arms anyway.
Well done you! It all sounds lovely. Ah, my fellow Huel fan. Pricked up ears because it's standard £3.50 at the supermarkets on line, though usually on offer at one of them at 2 for £6. D'you mean in the shops? It's £3 on offer on the H+B site.
I don't eat breakfast as I just don't feel like it. Maybe a bowl of fresh fruit with seeds and nuts and a soy yogurt.
At about 1pm I love a bottle of Huel then I don't feel hungry 'til 5 or 6pm when Liz makes something low on carbs. I absolutely love a plate of vegetables, tortilla and hummus with pepper and tomatoes and also more fruit and seeds and almond milk.
Really I just lost a bit at first then I went on Huel and boom I lost all that weight.
My tipping point was trying on new clothes and them not fitting well. And, my GP who is superbly amusing asked me if I was pregnant once...That hurt and really changed me.
Like my husband as a student - if he had put on a bit of weight and his trousers were a bit tighter around the waist he would drop the roll with his lunchtime soup! Because he lost weight doing that - why couldn't I!
new pjs, bed shorts and seam free sleeping t shirts arrived. The others didn’t fit anymore. Ha ha
How positive! I myself was overweight before steroids and put on maybe 5kgs but I am currently about 2kgs less than pre Pred although still overweight going to order the HUEL today thanks for the update. Yes my skin is thin and my hair is getting thinner my fringe has disappeared thats the worst thing for me but taking supplements
We’ll done, it’s good to hear some positive news 👍
Thank you! This weight loss wasn't even too much of a struggle. I bought a new suit when I came back to England in 2010 and it has been worn just a few times. I tried it on yesterday and the trousers just slipped off me. I was happy.
At first I was gagging for sourdough bread and potatoes but resisted temptation. I used to booze a lot but gave that up 26 years ago and I was really trim then. Lots of dashing around in San Francisco hotels.
Now I buy lots of nuts and seeds from Grapetree + fresh plant based food from Marks and Spencer (carbs!) I usually buy a prepared meal which I treat myself with a couple of times a week and eat it out of the supplied dish I bought it in.
I did eat at 4am when I took my Pred but stopped the big bowl of cereal for cashew nuts.
When I started drinking Huel about two months ago the rest of the excess weight just fell off me.
I'm not a fan of eating out so was OK there. We had a week in Bath recently and did eat out every lunch time BUT in the evening it was in the hotel room with some delicious M and S food.
