Congratulations on the coronation of King Charles III. Loved watching the whole coronation and, then on Sunday, the fabulous concert.
I know this has nothing to do with PMR but I just want you to know how much I appreciate the UK.

I agree the whole weekend was something very special.
I enjoyed it too. It lifts the humdrum.
Wonderful music and pageantry.
Great to see it all go so well, something for the Brits to be proud of in these difficult times. God save the King
It was amazing, my husband served 27 years in theRoyal Navy & I served 4, so it’s great to see the Armed Forces out & marching so well, too!! We thought the whole thing was excellent. The concert was so clever, too, the artistic colours & drone displays added to the music! When we visit your country we get a lot of free offers, like not paying for the cable cars, b3vayse we are veterans, & all the people thank us for our service. That’s never once happened in this country, so thanks to all of you across the pond for that! We were so surprised!
Not free -but discount cards for goods, travel-
support.veteransgateway.org....
But maybe not the thanks….
Thanks, will take a look! We can buy a Discount card for £5 a year, & it depends on your lifestyle if it’s worth it! Percentage discount in some pubs, cafes…but also shops. It’s nice. I wasn’t moaning, we were quite shocked, well, very pleasantly surprised, when the first person in America said ‘thank you for your Service’, but then we realised they all thank you. We went to a rodeo free & were seated in a Vets only section…then during the first part, the compère asked all veterans to stand & everybody clapped. I was embarrassed as I only served for four years, came out to get married, but David did 27 years, & I liked it…for him!! S xPS it’s the same card, but they are offering it free, not £5! Thanks so much, I will tell my friends from the Wrens who pay for it, that’s great!!
How did they know?
we wear vets lapel badges, very small enamel ones, when we travel, it’s interesting to meet others of a similar background, meet Brits overseas when we travel round Europe. I guess, in a way, it’s like one huge club, though, of course, in our book, the Navy is the Senior Service, the RAF are crabs and the Army are pongos!! A lot of my friends wear the badges all the time, but we don't tend to…horses for courses!
..and I’m a Pongo’s widow….so I may think differently…. 😉
I didn’t know, honestly! We also called them ‘brown jobs’. It’s a shame he’s not here, DL, it would be so great to hear what they called us! After all these years I’ve just realised I don’t know! You are entitled to think very differently indeed! Hugs S x
No probs….Was said tongue in cheek 😊..
I worked for both Army and Navy during my years as civilian so used to a bit of banter from all sides…
