hi all. I was diagnosed with copd 6 years ago. progressed from mild to moderate now severe. Has anyone progressed to lung cancer, can that happen?I ask because I've had pain for weeks under left arm and round to shoulder blade area. 2 days ago same started suddenly in right upper shoulder area.

it hurts breathing deeply, hurts when I cough.

I had a spirometry test due. when weighed found Ive lost half a stone.

my GP urgently ordered blood tests and xray.

has anyone here got lung cancer on top of copd?

I think you may be on the wrong forum. This is for people who have PMR and/or GCA. You need to find a COPD forum. You could try this one. copd.net/forums. COPD does not necessarily lead to lung cancer, but there is an increased risk.

no. I’ve had COPD and asthma all my life and never lung cancer, but have had 2 bouts of Ovarian cancer.

You are doing the right think Hunoonah by getting a CT and checking it out. Tests will rule out any bad stuff. I’m sorry you are having pain. Good plan to b proactive! Let us know, you’ll soon b better, I can feel it ! 💕
