back on here again following my last blood results to see how the Losartan (for BP) is affecting me - or not. (I’ve been on it since the last week in January)
I feel quite happy & well being on this low dosage of 25mg and my BP is now in the normal range.
However: isn’t there always a “However”🤣 all my results were great (cholesterol now down to 5.1 from 6), but my sodium level has dropped since last month and is now 127 (the range is 133-146). The doctor thinks it might be the Losartan causing the drop in sodium level so has prescribed another BP med instead of the Losartan. (Kidney function, potassium, etc are absolutely fine).
My sodium level has never been particularly high, but this does concern me, however if it was the Losartan causing the drop then hopefully it can soon be remedied.
We already eat a diet rich in sodium foods so at least I’m in the right direction there.

I had low sodium levels which weren't acted on in time, and they, and my blood pressure, fell dramatically one evening. (So did I!) Resulting in a couple of days in hospital and a broken shoulder.
The low sodium was deemed to be a result of Lisinopril which I was taking for hypertension.
While in hospital I had an I.V drip, which I thought was strange as I was drinking normally. Actually it was to raise my sodium levels quickly. I was then on restricted fluids for a while (which I found tricky) until the blood tests improved, and most importantly, the Lisinopril was changed to Amilopidine.
I now seem to be ok (apart rom the PMR of course! ) Fingers crossed!
