Actemra and Blood pressure

Has any one else developed high blood pressure on Actemra. My rheumatologist doubled my Actemra dose last month and now my BP is out of control.

It is a listed adverse effect I think. You'd think it could well be dose-related.

I just arrived home from having my infusion of Actemra. During the infusion my BP qas 123 over 72. This morning when I first woke up it was 170 over 93. I have developed nocturnal hypertension and have no ideal why. They treated for possible night time anxiety, but that has made no difference so it is not that. Not a clue.

So far i have not had any probs with blood pressure,but it is listed as a side effect.Hope you get it sorted soon.xx

Yes, in a word. TCZ does affect BP. Mine was always so normal prior to GCA and Rheumy put me on a BP monitor. Still high but normal in the instance because of TCZ.

Yes, my blood pressure became very high after starting weekly Actemra injections and Im now on tablets to lower it. Fairly common I think.

Primary doctor doubled my dose of Valsartan. I am to take bp in morning and evening for two weeks, then report back in to see if it has made a difference. So far, no change, but it has only been two days. I really think Actemra is doing this. Since dose is doubled I am feeling just awful after infusion. Hubby reminds me I feel that way every month, but since doubling it is worse. Only people who have this illness can understand. 20 plus years with no end in sight.
