He can't be that worried if he only wants to see you in a month!! But you are quite right in suspecting that fall may have something to do with raised markers. Does he know about the fall?

A single raised set of markers without symptoms shouldn't result in a kneejerk increase in pred. They maybe should be checked in a couple of weeks rather than a month but if you don't have PMR symptoms don't worry. Though always bear in mind a fall CAN trigger a flare.

As PMRpro says fall may well have put raised markers, but do monitor for any return of PMR symptoms and do the necessary if they do.

Are you still taking ordinary painkillers for collarbone, if not might be worth trying them rather than up the Pred.

Thankq stopped pain relief as it was only sore when I move, take 2 co codamol at night but make me constipated, but work well, will try paracetamol every 4 hours for a few days as other arm is sore with using it all the time and a shower is nightmare lol 😂

You should have been told to take some form of laxative with the cocodamol - don't let the constipation start in the first place!

After my replacement surgeries, I was given a supply of laxative sachets to bring home -but that was pre Covid!

Prunes from Amazon, I store them in a Kilner type jar. The district nurse recomends them. They work well. My GP seems to have "shares" in the company that makes Co-codamol. When I told him that I was having back pain if I was in bed for too many hours (3 hours is the most I can manage) so he gave me 100 of the 500/30 mg tablets really awful things I am resisting taking them, I would rather walk around in the early hours than take them, that usually relieves the pain. Prunes are better!

Hi Harrywogan I have just had exactly the same experience. No-one at surgery reception could tell me why I needed another blood test. Last night hubby had a telephone appointment with the GP so I grabbed the opportunity to ask (once hubby had finished). Apparently my lymphocytes are slightly high. That's it. He said it could be I'm fighting a viral infection and it's not urgent. All other results were normal (phew!). I said could it be due to the flu jab, he said yes.So I would try to find out what it is first, it's easy to jump to conclusions and start worrying.
