314B82m210c, if you have not run across a mention of GCA, what you said you are experiencing is indicative of that, which is a medical emergency! One almost certain way to tell is to chew a piece of gum at the rate of one chew per second (kind of slow). If the pain and "tiredness" in your jaw muscles becomes much worse or intolerable, call for ambulance. You can be permanently blinded in one or both eyes.
Some here would say that if you have a supply of prednisone, just go up to 60 mg. and stay there until officially diagnosed. Your eyes can be damaged without warning. We unfortunately have members on the forum who have had it happen that way.
While going up to 60 mg should lower the danger of loosing your sight, you need a proper diagnosis because some people who go to ER are given intravenous pred at a level much higher, based on test results.
Of all the people here, please know that the REAL expert is PMRPro. When she speaks, listen!
Good luck!

It might be worth reading this and printing it off. Because of Covid your medics might not be aware of this paper - it was issued one month before Covid came along.
Hi there, welcome to the site and when you have time a trip to FAQ's and a perusal of their contents is very worthwhile. Other than that nothing to add to the advice already given by PMRpro and DL.
