We’ll my husband has finally been given a date to have a vp shunt fitted on the 30th August. He has been waiting ages for this but obviously due to the nature of the op we are both very nervous. He is extremely wobbly now and it has been life changing so hopefully it all goes well and he will be more mobile and not do foggy brained.
shall I carry on do a reduction from 5 to 4.5 and see how I feel it stay on 5 till the op is gone? Decisions decisions!

Hi Sue - at last 🙏🏼 Wishing him all the very best & big hugs for you. Also No Reduction for you at this time - you need to be on the best form you can to support & look after your DH
Good news! A stressful time though for you both so no I wouldn’t reduce. You need to be strong at this time to help and support. Will pray all will go well. It’s so understandable that you are both nervous but try to relax as that will help you too- this is a massive thing for you two but a normal procedure for them. All the very best xx💐
Good luck both of you. My mother had a VP shunt when she was 84 years old. She had an amazing recovery, getting back the past ten years of her life. Her local GP (we live in Australia) passed off her symptoms (wet, whacky & wobbly) as dementia and old age. Our family were not happy with that diagnosis and pushed for more tests.
You were very lucky to have NPH discovered, it is usually missed by most doctors.
