Bloodwork not good.: My CRP is over 100.White cells... - PMRGCAuk
Bloodwork not good.
You don't have any infection associated with the prolapse do you? Do you feel unwell too?
I'd be expecting my doctors to pull their fingers out ...
I did have a low grade fever of 37.5 for a few days and chills.
Sed count 38
I do feel unwell.
What is your doctor doing about it. My CRP goes over 100 every so often for no apparent reason. My doctor panics, does a few tests, finds nothing, so I carry on until the next time.
The first thing their doing is a urine test for infection. All my reads were up.Sed count 38.High white cell low platelets.Kudney was fine I have been dieting though and upped my prednisone so that could have worsened my immune system.
My GP told me prednisone raises WBC a little but if you also have an infection going on then you most likely needs antibiotics to treat that.
Since you are in Canada your WBC lab numbers look different than mine regarding its high value. I'm in the US and currently my WBC is hovering around 13,000 UL and is considered high.
For me, I attribute my high WBC to getting 3 covid vaccines and then going on prednisone for PMR.
I hope you get sorted out and feel better.
Could have caused an infection somewhere.I did have fever and chills.
They normally do a urine test which is usually fine. We make jokes about it looking like a fine Loire wine! One doctor did say at least it didn’t look like a Rosé. Ho ho ho. I have chronic kidney disease stage 3b, but nothing is done about it. White blood cells do go up and down too, again nothing is done except the doctor comments if there is an improvement. My SED count has never been lower than 32, it is currently over 50 and has been for months. It will be interesting to see how you get on.
I had other reads high too platelet count 580.Normal is 400.lymphocylytes 4.Normal us 3,5.immature granulocytes ,02 normal1.1
As some have mentioned their ongoing readings are usually high to begin with. What are your related readings usually?
For instance when I was diagnosed with PMR my CRP was 32. That’s very high for me. When PMR is well managed it’s usually under 5. Any reading above 9 or 10 and I’m soon going to flare….by 12 I’m usually already flaring. My ESR is not as ‘accurate’.
Medications can also certainly impact your bloodwork. So can the AI conditions we have.
Hope the urine test helps determine what’s going on for you.
The only tests in Feb were slightly low WCC..It's the others I never had before. The WCC is 18.7.platelets 580.lymphocytes is 4.immature granulacytes is .02 1.1 is normal.sed count 38.crp 107.
Iam hoping it's a bladder infection.Easy to treat. The Dr is sending me for bloodwork again and a culture. Then I go to a follow up on Thurs.Hes putting me on antibiotics as well tomorrow.I have been dieting for three months so I think I didn't eat enough.I think iam a bit anemiac and low B12.too.
Just be aware that is how my GCA presented. Ongoing deathly fatigue, low grade intermittent fever with chills and sky high inflammatory markers. I did not have headache, jaw or eye issues. We figured because it is large vessel GCA. An infection would be easier to treat! Given your markers they should be all over figuring out what it is! Good luck.
