Now the covid jabs get tested

Other half started coughing on Friday 3rd June. We thought it was the dust from cutting out a bit of ceiling to fit a loft ladder. Did a test next morning. After being sooooooo careful for all this time, he has got covid. Temperature of 99 Saturday afternoon. Today, still positive. Much better. Temp normal. Still coughing. I am still negative. I started the sick day rules on Saturday and doubled the steroids to 14mg. Was invited for a fifth jab on Thursday by text. Will delay that one. Now we see how good the jabs were. If I get a positive LFT I will take 10mg am and 10mg pm and will do the PCR test that they sent me and will expect the anti-virals soon after. Any other advice? Thx.

Hard luck - all too easy with the current versions of Covid I fear!

What is the current advice about waiting for the next jab after infection? It was a month - but they also say the best level of immunity is being achieved by 3 vaccines plus infection.

On the PCR tests, it says 'If you were previously sent a PCR test you can keep it, but do not use it unless asked to do so by your NHS team.'

I'm not sure what they mean by your 'NHS team' (I wish!), but later on the same page it tells you to report the test result in the normal way, and what should happen next.

I got called fir my 5 th jab , turned up this morning to be told , no 5 th jab unless on 20 mags prednisolone or methotrexate !

I carried on with 14mg preds am until symptoms appeared on Monday evening, then 10mg am and 10mg pm along with the antivirals, which arrived by courier on Wednesday afternoon. That took a couple of phone calls as nobody phoned within 24 hours of the positive LFT, as the various texts said would happen. The various Docs, who called back, seemed to understand sick day rules relating to covid and were happy with my steroid use. GP supplied more. Friend collected. 12 medic phone calls in all. Boy did that feel odd. Just one antiviral dose to go then a quick pred taper back to 7. The other half got his symptoms exactly 3 days after his likely contact and me 3 days after him. I think that the antivirals have sorted me out pretty quick. He is still very sniffy. We are both still postitive even though I now have no symptoms. I got the text to get a 5th jab the day before his symptoms appeared. They had run out of jabs. I will get that in me 28 days after I get negative. He is day 10. I am day 7. We do have some brilliant scientists and geneticists more so, in this country. Sick of enforced isolation. Better not to infect anyone, like someone did to him. Not nice. Worst thing was the vile taste. Metallic and sea water. Cough, the sort where you can't draw breath.
