I am slowly learning to pace and beginning to understand what may trigger fatigue. I rested most of the weekend, and had a good, albeit busy day at work. I was tired by the end of the day so rested as soon as I got home. I then made the mistake of doing some school work for about 40 minutes in the evening, in preparation for a meeting today at work. That tipped me over the edge and I realised as I walked gingerly to school today that I had hit a wall. I told my boss, said I would prepare a simple lesson and tell my classes I was unwell and to be kind to me!
5 minutes later , cover had been sorted , a colleague drove me home and I am now in bed, where I shall remain for the day.
It was the work I did last night that was too much, as it was more than I would normally do. I have been teaching music for 22 years so can do that standing on my head (probably not sensible with PMR!) but the concentration last night used up my reserves. Lesson learned.....

It is not always easy working out what tips us over the edge. Well done for spotting it, talking to your boss about it and getting as good a result as poss. Hope you soon pick up.
Thanks for mentioning this. I have GCA and l find sorting forms out, filling them in more tiring than painting a large shed. I can paint for ten minutes then have to rest awhile before going back for another ten minutes. I can manage about three stints throughout the day. Paperwork and mental thought, will bring on fatigue like l have never known and l will be out for most of the day. Previous to being diagnosed l would sail through such stuff.
Yes, I am the same, well except for painting the large shed! I wonder if it is because you can't really take a break from mental things, even when you stop your brain is still working away on it.
Yes, it is not only physical exercise that causes fatigue. I have studied different subjects all my life (for relaxation) and used to sit taking notes for an hour at a time. Now it is about 20 mins max or I'll suffer for it later. Just glad I can manage something I suppose. Adapting is the name of the game but quite difficult.......
