Very few posts!

Hi everyone,

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced receiving what seems to be an abnormally low level of posts over the past 48hrs?

I've only had 5 new posts pop up since Friday evening and at one point, I went 13hrs without any new posts!

This of course could be because no one was actually posting, but it seems unlikely and hasn't ever happened before during the past 3yrs I've been on the forum.

Just asking to see if I need to report it for 'tech' team to check.

PS. The last post I have was received 13hrs ago too!

Good morning, lovely and sunny here as well. No I've not found this weekend and have noticed a number of new ones this morning. It has happened in the past though and seems to revert to normality at some time. I've never found a rational answer for it.

Just double check your notifications (they sometimes seem to have a mind of their own!), try logging off and on again. Has your device software been updated over last few day?

If all else fails, as I said to someone last week, shout at your computer (of course that will work!) and then contact HU.

But there haven’t been that many new posts…..so maybe just coincidence 😊

I've turned my phone on and off but will try logging off and back on again. Probably just a low number of posts if you've picked up on that too. Thanks DL.

Shouldn’t say it too loudly but there haven’t been many over weekend….…forgot to say, if I’m not getting email notifications I usually check the posts page as well, to see if it’s lack of posts or lack of notifications !

I don’t get notifications anymore for this app. I get the odd email which I click onto 😀

DorsetLady profile image
DorsetLadyPMRGCAuk volunteer in reply to carolBF

If you mean the App rather than the normal site, I believe it’s no longer being supported by HU - so best to delete it and use main site only.

I know this sounds daft where is the main site, I am writing this on the app

Do I need to find the site on the internet browser

I usually leave it open, but then I’m on it a lot…..up to you really.

Just check your Email notifications etc in your profile …tap avatar/picture to select , top right of screen.

Welcome aboard 🌸

I automatically get to it from my email notifications - I use a laptop for everything. When the email notifications fail (which does happen, on a regular basis) I just use google to get to the homepage by searching "PMRGCAuk forum health unlocked"

same here. had a delay recently when I dropped my laptop in bath...don't ask. had to fireup another and still trying to recover data. Jinasc laughed like a drain. very unkind.

My sister dropped her iPhone down the toilet. 😂

That's why the seat should always be down if you aren't sitting on it!!! As for men - we won't go there ... ;)

Ah, but I was in a desperate hurry having returned from a walk! Forgot about phone in back pocket 😩. New one's so big it no longer fits so hopefully it won't happen again.

PMRpro profile image
PMRproAmbassador in reply to Portobello

OK - excused! There are advantages to a phone the size of a small TV I suppose! The difference in weight between my burner phone and the inherited iPhone is a big disincentive to switch to the iPhone! Given all the other junk one requires in the handbag ... And no - I don't have any makeup!

No - much the same number of email notifications as usual for me but few NEW posts. Do you follow every thread? Unless you follow a thread you won't be told about new replies and it has been mainly replies over the weekend.

Yes. Like you i noticed fewer postings. On it every day atm due to enforced Covid resting 🙈

I think I got them Kendrew! It has taken me hours to plough through. I would report it. I am getting posts that aren’t directed at me in particular, and it has seemed more than normal.

DorsetLady profile image
DorsetLadyPMRGCAuk volunteer in reply to SheffieldJane

Are they replies to saved posts - you get notifications to them - even if not a direct reply to you personally.

SheffieldJane profile image
SheffieldJane in reply to DorsetLady

Not sure if I can keep on top of saving any more. It triggers people’s thank yous as well as more posts in a thread. It seemed to happen before I had private tuition from Mrs Nails, on saving. She pulled my desk into the front of the class and really tried. I suspect I am a lost cause. X

DorsetLady profile image

Well you can select what email notifications you receive - you don’t have to agree to all -

PMRpro profile image
PMRproAmbassador in reply to SheffieldJane

Think how we feel!!! I see every post - and actually, just because the notification just shows a thank you - there may well be several very significant posts that thank you is a final response to. If you look at the email there is often a tiny figure next to the source of the email and that shows how many responses there have seen since you last looked at that thread. It was only when I realised they have introduced that that I discovered why I had apparently missed important replies.

Well you and DL are legends, I am a mere mortal, with fluctuating usefulness. This popular forum is now officially a phenomenon. 🌈

I went out this morning but when I came back I had 24 alerts! (Notifications....but on my phone they're called alerts) They were all messages on my post but as you said...not actually directly for me....it was conversation between others leading on from my initial post. I'm totally confused now as I usually only receive alerts (notifications) if its a direct response to one of my comments!

Is it Candy I report it to??

PMRpro profile image
PMRproAmbassador in reply to Kendrew

No - if you posted the thread, you are notified of all responses to it.

PMRpro profile image
PMRproAmbassador in reply to Kendrew

Forgot to say - no, not Candy, none of us can do anything, has to be the HU support centre. But the notifications for this thread are all normal and nothing to complain about. Until there are a hundred or so ...

Sometimes the conversation has had a change of direction. I do look at all new posts and if I have a contribution to make that might help I make one. However what seems to be new is getting all small utterances thereafter and little side chats, not particularly relevant to me. Sometimes, yesterday there were 80. Addressed and posted to others within the thread. I think this is new. I used to get just ones who clicked on my name. There is a change afoot. 😁🦶🏻

Kendrew profile image
Kendrew in reply to SheffieldJane

That's exactly what's been happening to me. I only used to receive 'alerts' on my phone for messages directed to me, 'Kendrew', but not for other conversations that emerged within my original post! Now receiving them for every communication within that post!

See my reply to SJ above about selecting what email notifications you want.

SheffieldJane profile image
SheffieldJane in reply to DorsetLady

That would give me FOMO. 🫣

PMRpro profile image
PMRproAmbassador in reply to SheffieldJane

One thing that reduces the amount of effort to read more is to not look at a brand new thread, give it some hours to gather replies - THEN go and read it through from top to bottom, as if you were reading a book. Then reply to any specific comments. Only having one visit to that page saves a lot of time.

SheffieldJane profile image
SheffieldJane in reply to PMRpro

That’s a solution. I should get out more.

Jane ONLY Follow Post you are interested in - other wise you will drown in Notifications……..

Have a look at your Saved Posts & ‘Unsave’

Cheers 🥂
