For those of you who followed my posts about my possible - but thankfully, not - GCA diagnosis, I thought I’d let you know that I received a text this morning with details of my “urgent next week” appointment. It’s 39th MAY. For once in my life, I’m lost for words!!
Just been pointed out - should read 30th. Put it down to dodgy typing🤣

Oh my goodness me!! Well that really takes the biscuit!!.....are they observing some ancient calendar one wonders! Very mysterious.... and frustrating!
You might have to wait until 39th May (!! Sorry !!), but at least you don't have to have £100s in your purse/pocket when you go there. NHS is not perfect, but it's much better than other countries.
SOME other countries. It isn't the only "free at point of care" system and even in coutnries like here you can get exemption from copays on the grounds of illness or income, GP and in-patient care is free anyway. Unfortunately - PMR doesn't get a code, though GCA does.
Well, I'm not sure....I kind of like the fact that I can set an appointment myself with whatever doctor I want and if I need a new one, just go off and find one who accepts my insurance. Usually can get an appointment quickly (though not always)... I don't like having to meet a yearly deductible of $600 but I usually meet it rather quickly and then it's only a 20 percent copay. Pluses and minuses with different health care systems. I do NOT like that many medicines are not covered under my retirement insurance, ugh. We manage.
