Timing of Prednisone seems to be important

I have always taken my pred. about 10-11pm. For the past 6 years, everything has gone well. I had a little stiffness in morning but it passed quickly. When I was in the hospital with covid they gave me pred between 8-9am. It seemed to work ok so I continued that schedule when I got home. All was ok for about 3 weeks, however I noticed a little more pain and stiffness in the mornings. I kind of ignored it until today. Wow I could hardly move and the pain was really bad. Then it dawned on me. I was getting a high amount of steroids given by a shot daily in the morning at the hospital. No wonder I was pretty good in the mornings. So, I am going back to my night time regime. Now, I took my dose this morning for today, I am assuming I will take tomorrows dose tonight at 10-11pm? My only other thought is to split the does for tonight, half tonight and half in the morning? Then continue with full dose at night after that? Any ideas?

Thanks

I'd do it as you suggest first - morning dose and then evening dose today. Much the simplest and the slightly higher amount in the 24 hours will just give you a good day.

Thanks for the reply that is what I was thinking.Pain from this morning still not totally cleared out so maybe I need a little extra pred to help out.

Totally agree , hope it rectifies itself soon , just give yourself an easy week while you readjust , Bee

I have been on Prednisone for 10 years, I always take it with my breakfast around 7:00-8:00am, I am currently at 6 mg, we’ll see if I can get to 5 😎
