Lat Monday I had a positive LFT despite hardly going out (although I did have to use a supermarket loo which was vacated by a non-mask wearer). Husband then thought to inform me I had been coughing all night!
I immediately opened the PCR bag received before Christmas and was encouraged by the red priority markers everywhere. Anyway husband then took my test off to post and at 7:00 Tuesday morning the email arrived to say it was negative. And I feel fine so obviously all a false alarm (but it did get us to revisit how to isolate from each other).
But now I'm left without a ready PCR test kit. I rang 119 but they didnt know what would happen. They thought I might be sent a replacement but if not and if I got symptoms then to ring them again.
Has anyone else got experience of this?

How strange! What had prompted you to take the Lft in the first place? Did you feel ill? I had Covid over Xmas and I was impressed by the accuracy of the Lft. On the first day it was a very vague line, then on the second day a big thick line! I felt awful on and off for 10 days, but no breathing difficulty or bad cough. I didn't have the 'red' Pcr but got a normal one. When they got round to phoning me it would have been too late to start the anti virals. I was pleased in a way because a bit wary of new drugs.
By the way, my PMR was much improved after being ill - my immune system was obviously busy fighting Covid rather than myself!
Glad that you feel fine - but it could be Omicron and you got it very mildly, so take care.
Hi, I had Covid over New Year. I had the priority one sent to me but decided to go to a drive in testing centre, very close to where I live. The results were texted to me next day. I was contacted about the antivirals , I could be triaged by a doctor but I was feeling ok and got through it with a heavy cold and cough. I guess you could try contacting them again and ask for another to be sent. Thankfully the numbers are on the way down so fingers crossed it continues this way. Glad you tested negative x
