Positive on 26/12, no courier available. Post on Monday I was told despite telling them that my local box would not be collected for the bank holidays.
Finally had covid drug at last minute due to delays in receiving my test.
Don't let 119 tell you that your local box will be collected…if its a bank holiday…it does not

I had an infusion of Xevudy on Thursday, only suitable for mild covid cases and must be given within 5 days of symptoms starting. No side effects for me but didn’t feel so good Friday. Better yesterday and today, just still so tired. No change there really!
More chaos at the same time they are telling people to test more!!!! No tests to get and not post to return them! A different thing but I am waiting for a new card-reader from the bank. Now 3 (or maybe 4) weeks since it was ordered ...
Try the govt website for delivery of lateral flow kits at unsocial hours. I went on at 8am New Years Day and secured one. Everything is so stressful at the moment. Good Luck.
Not sure where it was delayed, it COULD have been this side of Turin, but the PO happily took the extra charge for a Priority letter of condolence which took over 3 weeks to get here - other "ordinary" stamps did it in under a week!
Apologies, I have not understood what you have said! Do you mean you tested positive with lateral flow test? Then did you have a PCR test at home, which was not collected for 3 days? What do you mean by: "Finally had covid drug at last minute due to delays in receiving my test". I was not aware that Covid drugs were given".
Lateral flow was positive. I had already received a priority PCR test as per the NHS guidelines and the info said a courier would be available to collect on Sundays. Having not secured a courier, next day I was told by 119 to post it as the Royal Mail website said it would be collected. It was not. The following day I then travelled over 20 miles to a drive through test centre and had my result the next day. Finally the original was collected but as it was over 24 hours old it probably wasn't much use. See my earlier reply re the drug I was given.
Thank you for clarification, it is now clear to me. I was very unwell in May 2019 with what appeared to be Covid, having experienced all classic signs. My PCR was collected late and the result was Negative. My GP said nothing would convince him that I didn't have Covid. I went to great lengths with contacting the Testing Lab to find times of the test and after 4 weeks, I finally got the time they had tested the swab sample: it was done 40 mins to the deadline. I do not believe the result was accurate. Three months later I paid privately for an antibody blood test: that result was negative but was told in fact I should have had this test within the first month of suspecting Covid. I was interested to hear your experience, so thank you.
