Wonderful service from PCR Priority Test

I used this testing facility yesterday. Test done and husband posted it in the priority post box in the village (Sunday) and I had the result by 10.30 this morning, Monday. Fortunately negative. However, ordering a replacement not so easy. Phoned 119 and the first person I spoke to said under no circumstances could I have a second test kit. I did start to say that I had been told yesterday to re-order and she hung up in me! My daughter took over, spoke to a lovely, helpful lady and I am assured a replacement test kit will be with me tomorrow. Hope I don’t need it! The moral, if at first you don’t succeed, try again. But hats off to the NHS for the rapid response to the test.

One is left to just wonder WHY you couldn't have a replacement for a negative test done in good faith in response to doubtful syptoms ...

I dread having to speak to a call centre ... Chat bots are as bad - I want to speak to a person who knows what they are on about. I've had a few choose any one from 3 options after speaking to different people. Like GPs - no continuity of care ...

I used my priority test a little over a week ago. Negative. 119 didn’t really know what would happen but they thought I *might* get sent a replacement. And today a replacement arrived. I love it when systems work as they should!

I have just had a replacement PCR test arrive automagically! It’s taken about a fortnight since I used mine … which was positive, so that might (but shouldn’t) be a difference.I hadn’t done anything about trying to request a replacement, particularly after the doctor who reviewed my case (without even talking to me) had deemed me low risk, so I fully expected to have been removed from the priority list.

Each test whether PCR or LFT has its own code - so when yours was logged on the system it obviously flagged up a new one required….so you are obviously still on priority list.

OTOH - hope you don't need it! To get infected again in the next few months would seem particularly bad luck!

fingers crossed you will not need it, I used mine at the beg of Dec, it came back positive - i thought I had a cold and was treating it with Lemsip ! however, today a replacement was put through my letterbox ,and I am hoping I will not need it ,. but it is good to have a backup in our cupboards
