Wake up approx 9 am then about 9.30 Pred and painkillers and cup of tea in bed. Sit looking at phone til 10.30. Up wash slowly dress slowly. Come downstairs, 3-4 times per week we go to cafe for breakfast change of scene ride around countryside for hour. Maybe into Morrisons if energy enough it’s my back that stops me. Do 15 mins shopping of course with husband in tow. I going resting on trolley helps. Back home watch tipping point and chase sitting in chair sometimes dozing off. 6 have a t of dinner 9-10 bed. Repeat cut sometimes replace with an hour or so visit to my son and fabulous daughter in law and grandkids.my DIL Makes me a lovely hot water bottle for my back. My son offers to cook every day if I want but me and hubby manage. Grandkids treat me like a queen. I’m lucky but still struggling in loads of ways. Trying to count my blessings❤️

Sounds as though you have a wonderfully supportive family, as have I but I’m just wondering if maybe you need to up your dose to a place we’re you can manage your symptoms more effectively. Perhaps our experts have a view? 🥂❤️ Happy New Year ❤️🥂

Good to see a chronicle of someones (your day) and how you manage. We all get our routines..(with the many limits) and work to have a LIFE constrained as it is. My one thought or statement realy, is pain killers never helped me with the PRM pain. I take ES Tylenol maybe once a day but it is for other pains, not PMR. Arthritis of foot that limits mobility, etc. But, the muscle (back, shoulders, hips, neck pain) is not in the least relieved by pain killer or Tylenol! And it comes with its own side effects that I hate anyway. IF I am on the correct dose of prednisone for where I am, I do NOT have the PMR type pain. I am tapering from 11 ng, U am just starting with 7 mg after months of slow taper to this point. Yesterday, back muscles were difficult. Body may not be liking this dose. Will give it a few days and see. I use Tiger Balm for the muscle distress...it is a great distractor. Used it a lot yesterday. And heat. Assessing today. If the same I will have to go back to 8 mg. My body is NOT doing well with the steroids. My sed rate now is 73. It was 100. CRP was 47.5, now normal, (below 2!). Thanks so much for letting us know your routine. It prompted me to connect.

PS. I have diabetes on insulin and the blood sugar control is extremely difficult. That's one of the huge downsides of the steroids for me. Of course the weight gain that also contributes to this trouble. I eat no more than 1000 cal/day LOW CARB...30-50 grams usually. still have gained 20 lbs since July 2021 when diagnosed. My weight was normal before that.

Painkillers for back pain tbh they don’t do much just make me feel stoned and I’m not lol. Iv tried most painkillers without any luck. Lower back pain waiting to see physio

Okay, now I get why the painkillers...for the back...they do work for that but not for PMR!
