Depends what it for.

I had a few in knee and shoulder -and was told to rest that joint for 24 hours -and to be a bit careful for a few days but not for 2 weeks .

Don’t image you will be doing that much on holiday - but no lifting suitcase if shoulder/wrist nor a 5 mike walk if knee or hip.

Who are “they”?

End of the day if you’re unsure postpone until back home.

Enjoy holiday.

Okay, not sure that is same injection then-so maybe do as you have been advised. Don’t want to impact on holidays..

Have had it in both shoulders, pain after the local wore off, was achy, and 24hrs of awful painkiller proof agony, but then: bliss, no pain - lasted for 8 weeks…..so arrange not to be busy next day, but then fine

Where is the injection to be? I have had a knee injection and sacroiliac joint injections and I didn't really rest after. The knee injection hurt a couple of hours later but ibuprofen dealt with that. The SI joint one was fine.

As long as there is a few days between, I'd go for it!

Don't go mad but if all you are doing is lying in the sun ...

You flying? Have you booked airport assistance.

when you book airport assistance do they check anything. My worry is I look perfectly fine and so am nervous to even consider flying. But would love to go to my sister's apartment in Lake Como but not sure I would even survive getting to the airport here let alone anything else. Maybe I should go with a stick 😂

I used a stick when I flew to Italy after breaking my ankle. IIt Was wonderful, no standing in queues and loads of offers of help. Was tempted to take the stick again the next year although my ankle had healed by then.

No - there are plenty of invisible disabilities. I do now take a crutch usually - like at home if I'm going on a bus - but I didn't need it when I first booked airport assistance! But the atrial fibrillation that makes fast walking unlikely doesn't advertise its presence.

At Manchester for example, there is a drop-off area for Blue badge holders where I think there are people to assist as you leave to taxi or your friends can leave the car to go with you. On the other drop off area the access to the service is at one door, if you go in by the other door there is a button to press to summon assistance with a wheelchair. Once you are in their system, they take you everywhere, at your destination you are met at the plane at a suitable stage, they will even accompany you to/from the seat if you can't carry your hand-luggage.

I had one in my shoulder, then drove home. It did not make a blind bit of difference in my case.

I had one in my foot and drove home. Just had relief from Morton’s Neuroma.

Had them in knees many years ago and don't remember any pain or problems, at least from the injections. Seeing the doc turn up with what seemed to be at least a six needle/syringe and say I'm just going to put this in here it will only take a moment, pointing to the middle of my knee, was the scary moment. 🫢

had them in hip last year & this year, for Bursitis. No restrictions on anything. Common sense meant I was careful for a few days, but that’s all. I’ve had 3 injections a year for about 8 years now (different body parts & reasons), different doctors, but never had any problems carrying on my normal life. They’re not painful, or scary, don’t let people put you off, please!!

I had a cortisone injection in my shoulder and GP said no need to rest afterwards. It didn’t really hurt and I did a six hour shift at the rest home that same day.
