Hot Flashes
Pred changes your temperature regulation through actions on the thyroid and adrenal glands. This can lead to hot flashes and drenching sweat for some people like me! What is so annoying I sailed through menopause without a flash in sight.
At low doses poor adrenal function made me have sweats. It can also be a sign of increasing autoimmune activity or other conditions. Sometimes difficult to tell so other signs may help with deciding which it is.
If you search on ‘sweats’ you will find many posts & responses on this subject & find much info! I’ve suffered since I was diagnosed!
If it didn't happen at higher doses then it could be that you are getting close to your lowest effective dose and borderline for the inflammation being not quite controlled. That happens to me if I'm threatening a flare.
I don't know if this could help, but worth a try. The only time I had hot flashes during menopause was when I ran out of my Vitamin E supplement. I got back on 800 IU of natural E and they stopped immediately. Later reduced to 400 IU.Look for d-alpha tocopherol, not the synthetic dl-alpha. Vitamin E is also good for circulation and energy, so take it early in the day to help with fatigue.
