On 5th June I reduced to 7mg but since then I have found the basics of life a massive struggle and I’m normally a few miles a day person.
Various limbs have become painful even an old break in my wrist is giving me jip. When these hot flushes come on I feel absolutely drained so I’m going to add an extra 5mg for 5 days but I’ve been here before. ( In January I reached 7mg and added an extra 5mg for 5 days and started tapering again )
I also get a trembling feeling in my legs .
Apologies for the whinge but this forum is my only outlet since my OH seems to think that as long as I can take more tablets that’s me sorted.

Hi, im tapering from 12.5 to12and its a struggle. I too have hot flushes and aches. but they seem to be relieved somewhat by paracetamol. so that says to me its not a flair but withdrawal symptoms which should pass after a week or so.
I sympathise with you, I feel the same too at 7mg...and my OH still dosen`t understand it after 10 years! When I climb my stairs I imagine I`m climbing Everest most days!....
Sounds like your body is telling you that you have arrived at your interim destination: 7.5mg seems more likely than 7mg which is too low. It might even be 8mg.
If it is I'm totally ********** Because I have been above 10mg for at least 1/2 of the last 12 years and only once down to under 5mg! I'm not falling apart as far as I can tell - no cataracts, no diabetes, gained weight, lost weight (but some of that weight gain was PMR, long before pred), no loss of bone density, skin not too bad, bruise but I also need anticoagulant therapy. But I can function reasonably well - and I can't without pred. And that is what matters.
But you are unlikely to be entirely stuck - I am pretty unusual - and the first 18 months or so of PMR are the most active. From what I have seen over the years the activity goes up and down in the short term, forming a sine wave, but in the longer term the peaks of that sine wave always get lower over time. You will get lower - just not yet.
