Update on week of BP take

Update on weekly BP taken to surgery this am.

Scores were low. Some in the 70s. Call from GP surgery (don't know who) rang on my mobile which I can hear but rang of pretty sharp. Then. Landline rang which I cannot hear. My OH took call and said Dr would call tomorrow so stand by. Gather it will be about scores. Have been complaining of rushing heart now for nearly a year, but no one took any notice. Could the two be connected low BP and rushing heart.

Do you mean the 70’s were in the bottom number or top number of the b/p reading?

Top number 78/63 and 74/62

If by rushing heart you mean getting lots of fast beats in a run, the heart can’t beat as forcefully so your blood pressure could drop. The top number could do with being higher than 70’s. We’re those readings taken during a heart rush? Ideally you need a 24 hour ECG if you feel the rhythm going a bit silly so they can see episodes properly.

No I waited for the heart to calm a bit. Thank you for replying 😊

Hmmm - I'm surprised you were still upright with those readings!!!

It might be an idea to take a BP during a heart rush ...

A racing heart. Sorry. Put it down to panic attacks after research on the net. But it is relentless now. Feel better when I stand up. Being in bed is very uncomfortable. I am taking 5.5 Pred and Lanzaporole. Plus Vit D3 and K2. I first complained of the racing heart in Feb 21.Thank you for replying 😊

I suffer from panic attacks and they make my heart race too.Raises my pulse rate but it f I can calm down it returns to normal. My daughter complained of the same symptoms and wore the heart monitor and all was normal Best to get it checked out.

To add … I do complain but get the tut tut attitude so shut up. It seems since getting PMR there is always something wrong. The best help has been on here. Hopefully tomorrow it will not be a session banging on about AA

You’ve had good advice. I just wanted to send you a hug for your all too common experience of not being taken seriously. It made me feel quite sad. 🌺

Yes it is sad isn’t it. They don’t suffer so they don’t know 😊

My BP is always quite low . Sometimes in the 80s. But never higher than 103. I have recently got as low as nearly 3.5. But no , no difference. Had a flare recently and am now tapering to 5using DSNS 😊

Studies have found there is an increased incidence of atrial fibrillation in patients on AA and other bisphosphonates.

I took AAto start with then had a break. I was taking it again for a few weeks December 2020. So perhaps … this racing heart started around early Feb 2021 😊

My a.fib is probably due to the autoimmune part of PMR having damaged the electrical cells in the heart. Definitely gets worse with a flare or stress!!!!

I was having a test at the hospital the other day and my blood pressure went down to 55/40 and my heart rate went up well over 100. The nurse said my heart was rushing to try and make my blood pressure go up.

I had a HUTT test, I think the nurse was a bit worried!!! I could hear a sigh of relief when the BP started going up. The same thing happened when I had a new hip during the op, I don’t know what the BP was then, but it must have been low as I could hear the team counting upwards and when they got to sixty I could hear seven people simultaneously breathe a sigh of relief!
