Jittery

Does anyone feel jittery after taking prednisone. I can’t think what else it might be. But I take amitriptyline at night to help with back fracture but low dose 10mg. I also get palpitations. I can’t seem to sort any of this out. 😢

Have you had this jitteriness ever since you started Pred? Or is it new? Did you take amitriptyline before Pred, and if so did you have same feelings? Or is it because you are taking both?

Bit difficult to tell, but if you can work out when it started it might help.

Same questions here that DL has asked.

Some people have taken pred before bed to let the jitters happen while they are asleep = if you see what I mean ...

I think it might be amitriptyline actually

What time do you take Amitriptyline & the Prednisolone? How soon do the jittery feelings start after either/both?

I had the same with Pred until until I got under 10mg. I also take 5mg of Amitriptyline to help with sleep as 10 mg give me side effects also

I was having a terrible time with jitters, heart felt as though it was coming out of my chest and next day terrible tiredness. After seeing a suggestion to take the preds at 2 - 3 am they have disappeared. Now after another suggestion I have ordered gastric coated preds so hoping I can take at bedtime to get away from that early alarm! Good luck.

It appears that amytriptiline can have a greater effect when on prednisolone.suggest reducing the dose, and take pred last thing at night

Not exactly jittery but I a bit more energized thanks to feeling so much better after the initial dose of Prednisone which was 15mg. I’m guessing that it depends on your dosage and the other drugs you may or may not be taking at the same time.

Hope that helps somewhat. Good luck and feel better.

Late to this thread… I have what I describe as a “toxic jelly” sensation permanently, wobbly and weak-limbed, noticeably increased since being prescribed Methotrexate as well. Currently 20mg Pred. Good luck with your investigation

Hi Uglow Everybody reacts differently to medication. I started taking 15mg of Pred in morning side effects hot distorted vision, off balance itchy and tired changed to taking it at 10pm slept alright and got on with my day. Followed the DSNS method had one or two what I call hiccups where I had to up the dose by 2mgs wait for pain to go away and then continue with 0.5 drops every 26days I have ben on this journey since 2016. I am down to 2mgs. One day I hope to be free. Good Luck
