My doctor rang with the results of my Dexa Scan and I have Osteopenia which he says is post menopausal and age related, and he is happy for me to carry on with Adcal , exercise and diet. He wants another scan in 3 years, so pleased with that. I also mentioned about my psoriasis and swollen toes, and he immediately recognised Psoriatic arthritis and is referring me to Rheumy. He was also happy as I am now down to 16mg pred,( started on 20mg) about to go to 15mg. I think he nearly gets the DSNS method, and just asked me to ping off for a repeat when necessary. He seems bemused by these weird auto immune conditions! I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful sunshine. x

What was your t-score, do you know? The chances are then that you may not have PMR - it isn't unusual for PsA to present with PMR symptoms and it responds far better to anti-TNF drugs so it may get you off pred too!

I was so excited to get positive feedback about the psoriasis I forgot to ask him! He seemed pretty happy with the reading. It would be great if this isn't PMR and get off the pred. I was sure i had PMR as within hours of taking pred the pain was gone! If it turns out that way though I'll really miss this great group with all the support, advice and care it gives.🤗

We don't chuck people out - lots of the stuff is much the same for living with a chronic condition anyway, whatever it is. And you won't be off pred in five minutes either.

I know PMRpro, I'm not going to go anywhere, this group is an absolute lifeline for us with chronic conditions.

Thank you, I did develop psoriasis about 6 years ago, when I was 55. I only developed the PMR symptoms last year, Autumn time. I have been on the pred since, and managing to slowly taper. The GP is referring me to Rheumatologist, and said they may refer on to Dermalogical Dept, depending what they find.
