Dexa scan

Since my pelvic fracture I had a dexa scan and it has come back with a little worsening of my bones. I have oteopenia in both hips (have had that for years and not changed much) Spine is really good. I am right on the border for osteoporosis in the left hip. (that worsened since last scan)

Rheumatologist has wanted me on a bone med for 4 years. I have always said no as they scare me. I think the time has come that I will have to pick one and see how it goes. I am waiting for the orthopedic surgeon to give his opinion on it.

I know he said getting a pelvic fracture is a very hard thing to do. Usually a bad accident proceeds it (which I didn't have) However, looking at the scan results makes me scratch my head and wonder how did the fracture happen as the bones thinning just isn't as bad as I thought it might be. He is still waiting on Blood work results to come back. Not sure what he is looking for.

Any recommendations on a bone med would be appreciated.

Thanks
