Nausea

Hi everyone, I’ve been feeling terrible nausea and sore ears is the normal with prednisolone and pmr , I went up from 6 to 7 mg to see if that would help .

I haven't come across these as PMR symptoms. It's possible that you have an ear infection so don't leave it-speak to your doctor.

Hello, How long have you had it for? I think you need to speak to a doctor as this isn’t really a normal symptom set. If it is an infection you don’t really want to be upping Pred without some antibiotic cover or something as it reduces your ability to fight it.

Ok i thought I have seen others post about nausea , I’ve not felt this before so I definitely will speak with the doctor , thank you

It can be a symptom with GCA but what you are describing isn't typical of PMR and also not really GCA. But either way - you need to speak to a doctor soon.

The combination with the ear pain makes it a bit more concerning and as PMRPro says, GCA needs to be ruled out too.

So sorry to hear your very unpleasant symptoms. I have to say I have never experienced this when taking prednisolone, due you take a PPI stomach guard before taking pred?Such as Lansoprazole or omeprazol. Could it be some other reason for your problem ears?
