I wrote last week how I was feeling fatigue nausea anxiety I had reduced over the year from 12.5 to 3.5 in 22 months theses symptoms have hit me like a truck

Went to GP who said I did not need cortisol test as I had not suddenly stopped

I have increased pred to 5mg should I increase to 7mg

Supposed to be going on a cruise next week but don’t feel like I could go feeling like this.

That should be 12 months

Very quick in my mind…especially where adrenals are concerned… the problem with increasing even more is that you have to come down again… and you may end up in same situation when you reduce again [was going to same same boat - but that’s a tad cruel in the circumstances 😉]…

But as you are going away you might have to do just that, and bite the bullet when you come home.

I’m sure you are getting anxious.. and that’s probably not helping.

I went on a cruise with quite low adrenal function so I changed my expectations of not doing the usual thing and instead vegging out. It was wonderful. I knew medical help was within the lower decks. The travelling either side needs to be thought about and made as easy as possible. Are you flying?

Sometimes I do wonder where the brain cells are hiding ...

And yes, the anxiety won't help.

I was away last week and had been feeling quite wobbly on 5mg at home. Lots of driving and visiting to be done and I upped it to 10mg for the week, All went fine. Now back to 6mg and considering my position.

For me, the beauty of a cruise is being able to rest when I need to. If there is a shore day looming I rest as much as I can beforehand. Hope you can enjoy it

The trouble is you are a victim of the Deathly Fatigue. I found at 5mg I was totally zombie like. I did increase to 6mg to help even though I wanted to tough it out. Going up to 7mg or 8mg should make your adrenals happier. You may have to taper down depending how long you stay there. I stayed on 5mg for months to let the adrenals wake up again.

hi Harry

I’m currently on a cruise and was dreading it because I felt so unwell. Here are my tips:

- book wheelchair support at the airport

- Ask for wheelchair support at the port

- don’t think you have to get off the boat at ports

- you can do small things each day, it might be going to breakfast, lunch and dinner, it might include the hot tub

- although I was dreading it I’ve found it’s been good for me, lots of small walks to meals or the pool

- has really helped my mindset too

I hope you have a great time, even if you just enjoy room service a few times. It’s about changing our personal expectations of what we can and cannot do and rolling with it

Good luck
