I have a telephone appointment with my doctor in two weeks regarding my blood test results which I gather we’re normal. Does this have any relationship to my continued reduction in steroids? I am down to 6mgs over a period of three years and have experienced a number of flares on my journey so far.
Thank you

Only that the current dose is enough to manage all the inflammation being created daily - it has no predictive value at all in terms of getting to a lower dose of pred. If, on the other hand, it were to start to rise, however slightly, it could mean that you have reached a dose that isn't quite enough. And that can happen even by reducing 1/2mg!
Thank you PMRpro. I am very grateful for your quick response. My reduction plan of 1/2 mg every six weeks has, so far, been fine with no flares for several months. I hope to reduce from now on using one of the suggested slow taper plans and hope this proves successful as I continue my journey. Over the past 6months I have reduced my exercise routine which I hope will help. I have a new doctor and just need to be aware of the pros and cons regarding my blood test results.Thank you again for your help xxx
