Second shot

So, after about 2 1/2 years I am on 6 mg pred and doing sort of ok, meaning I can do what I want if I don’t push it.

Had the first COVID vaccine (Maderna, in the USA) with minimal side effects, just a sore arm for a couple of days. Had the second shot yesterday morning, and felt fine until about 12 hours later, when I went to bed. Terrible aches and pains from head to toe which kept me awake all night. Now, next morning feel a little better, but not well. This is the first time in my life I ever had a bad reaction to any vaccine. I had 16 vaccines in one day when in the military,

I’m sure I well fell much better shortly, just wanted to state that obviously, everyone is different. Wife had second shot same time and is fine.

If it's any consolation you are showing a brilliant immune response! Pretend you have the flu and do nothing much, sleep and keep hydrated, and feel better tomorrow!

Just rest for the rest of the day & hopefully you’ll be fine tomorrow, fluids & paracetamol if you have pain. 🌸

Just rest & take it easy, lots of fluids & a simple pain killer to make you more comfortable.

Get Well Soon & as Heron says it’s you showing an excellent response to the Vaccine!

Manchild, if it is any consolation, I had mine done a week ago with quite a bad reaction and my arm is still slightly swollen and tender. A friend also had a bad reaction, we have both decided that we might have had Covid and that is why the bad reaction. I spent nine days in hospital in September and I would not be surprised if I had caught it there.

They did warn that the reaction to the second shot would probably be greater - and that anyone who had picked up Covid would too.

Rest, rest and more rest. Drink plenty and don't fight it. My Dr always used to say wimps who don't fight it do best! 😁🐈
