Tongue

Morning all.,, has anyone suffered from small spots on their tongue. I have noticed small like blisters (they are not blister) in the middle of my tongue. They don't hurt even if I brush my Tonge but one is getting bigger. Is it cause for concern or is it something that happens with preds. Just wondered. I'm on 15 mgs now. Just come down from. 17.5 but have had the spots from about 2 weeks ago..

My sister developed a growth on her tongue that had to be removed. I am not aware of it being a side effect. I would take a photograph of it and send it to your GP.

Might be worth trying your dentist too. I haven't seen mine in a year though....

Yes. My last appointment was last May and that was cancelled.. I think I need to but he is shut at the moment. Just one tooth has gone a bit loose but no pain. I got in touch with the pharmacy yesterday and she said it can be a side effect of steroids and that I am probably making too much acid. I am on 1 lanzrapole per day and she said to get in touch with my Dr as I might need two per day. I am phoning her today. Thanks for reply. Wish you well.

What on earth are UK dentists playing at? My dentist here in northern Italy has been open the entire time, the first month it was emergencies only but he told me their work hasn't changed much at all as they clean down everything between patients anyway and wear PPE. The main difference is that only what will be used for the current patient is out, everything else is in cupboards.

So true. I did hear that he was only doing emergencies then I heard he was only opening 2 days a week and when I phoned no answer. I shall keep trying.

Helllo ,just to say I have little blisters under my tongue ,dentist sad not too worry about them.Also had what looked like a wart on my tongue ,was very concerned but again dentist said it will go away ,I used Nystatin on it for a month and it did go .ihad the Nystatin for thrush,could be a coincidence the growth disappeared.i am presuming it was the steroid caused the problem .ihad been on them a couple of months ,but so knows??

Thanks for that info. I phoned the Dr today and she has given me the same for thrush and said it will clear up anyway like the dentist told you. It's so reassuring and I have only been on steroids for a couple of months also. I will keep an eye on it and she said I should have another blood test so I will wait till they send for me. She said I could always take another lanzrepole if I wanted to but I don't want to take more tablets than I have to.Thanks again.
