Fingers turning bruised like in colour

Hi, has anyone experienced their fingers turning purplish black when having a shower or in the hot tub? Is this something to do with my PMR diagnosis?

Sounds a bit strange - all fingers? A bit more detail would be helpful.

Hi

It is strange! The first time it happened in the hot tub and it looked like I had got ink on my fingers. It was mainly on my left hand and only on the four fingers. Twice since then I have experienced the same but on both hands while washing my hair in the shower but they soon go back to their normal colour after about 5 minutes. I did google it and found that it was linked to Lupus so now having doubts about my diagnosis. I just thought I would check with the forum to see if anybody else has had similar.

It's the being in the shower/hot tub that is strange! If it were in response to cold I'd say Raynauds and if it were sudden bruising it would be anytime and possibly Achenbach's syndrome.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl....

Haven't come across it on the lupus forum - what is it called?

If it happens while washing your hair, is it because your hands are raised to your head? If so, it may be your arterial blood flow is being compromised which really should be looked into.

The bottom of my feet go like that when I shower. I stand on tiles and there are motley patches of deep purple /red on soles of feet. The other patches are yellowy/cream patches .A little disturbing. It looks like the blood isn't flowing evenly.

Not my hands but my feet. I have poor circulation and it has been looked into. Had a doplar test and no clots were found. Feet stay blue to but not all the time
