Tapering - or not!

Hi, I am bipolar and have just been in a psychiatric hospital for a week. I’m tapering from 7mg to 6mg on the DSNS programme which has worked very well till now. I’m stiff and sore again ( it’s manageable but uncomfortable) - should I remain at 7 mg for a while till I feel a bit better?

Thank you for any advice in advance. R

I think it’s a very good plan to stay where you are for the moment. No point in adding in any extra stress - hope you soon feel better.

Yes I think you should stay where you are for a while and when you are ready to taper do it by .5mg so to 6.5mg

I think I would - it must have been stressful and stress and PMR don't ever mix well!!! Hope everything is back to normal now

I would definitely stay at 7mg. I have learnt from bitter experience don’t reduce if you have pain. Wait until you feel OK.

So sorry that you are in the midst of a challenging time. Personally, I would taper slowly and even stop for winter weather. Go well Bubble56. X

Thank you , it’s been tough between one illness and another but I’m utterly determined to get well again.

I agree with Sheffield Jane and the others: stay at 7mg until you feel 100%. You've only just come out of the psychiatric unit and you need to feel settled and completely well again before even thinking about tapering. You need to rest and stay as stress-free as you are able. Wishing you well.

Wishing you well. Agree with everyone else . Don’t taper until you feel more settled, would be my advice. 💐
