You asked this when a pharmacist sent it round in a cool bag a year or two ago - it should NOT be kept in the fridge. The main reason for NOT putting it in the fridge is that that could cause condensation to form and that will lead to the coating deteriorating and not functioning as it is meant to in delaying the release of the pred at the core. In some countries where the atmosphere may be humid it is supplied in a bottle with a dessicant to reduce that risk and the instructions are to keep the tablets in the original container.

This is a link for the datasheet:

drugs.com/uk/lodotra-5-mg-m...

Which says:

5. How to store Lodotra

• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach

of children.

• Do not take these tablets after the expiry date

which is stated on the bottle and the carton.

• The expiry date refers to the last day of that

month.

• After first opening the container, the tablets

can be stored in the bottle for up to 14 weeks.

After that time, dispose of the remaining

tablets.

• Do not store above 25°C.

• Do not throw away any medicines via

wastewater or household waste. Ask your

pharmacist how to throw away medicines

you no longer use. These measures will help

to protect the environment.

If the pharmacist is issuing incorrect advice then they need to be told about it.

Oh dear - why??????? It says very clearly not to store above 25C so a cellar is fine in this weather but not a fridge.

He is one of the worst chemists we've ever come across. He can hardly speak/understand German. Where he got his degree (if he has one) I don't know! Unfortunately he is second in charge at the chemist's now.🤨🤨

Must be a way of making a complaint surely?

I really don't know! As far as we can make out he has bought into it!!!! If so, we're off.

But there must be some professional monitor - he is mishandling pharmaceuticals. And that could have serious repercussions,

Think we'll have a word with our old chemist, she may be able to see to it.
