I thought I had a foot stress fracture. One day I couldn't walk it was so painful. Went to foot dr. took xrays said probably too soon to see on xray. Put on soft cast went back 3weeks later. Still can't find fracture. I am beginning to wonder if it has something to do with prednisone and or Pmr? and not a fracture. Dr. said to come back in 4 weeks and see if it has improved. May need an MRI.
Foot hurts all over, can't put weight on it and bottom of foot burns. I don't have diabetes or circulation problems (not that I know of) did test years ago and was fine then.
Anyone else have anything close to this that determined it was related to PMR?
Thanks

Yes, two years into my PMR/GCA journey. Have been suffering exactly the same. Telephone appointment with go, DX plantar fasciitis. Took co- codomol for about 5 days and my chiropractor recommended Birkenstock shoes. Very helpful, along with rest; like all of us I do too much 🙄
Is it just one foot? I had pain like that in my feet with the PMR until I went onto pred and even then it took a few months to go away. It was tendinitis and synovitis - just soft tissue inflammation - but it was always both feet. It felt as if I was wearing shoes that were 2 sizes too small!
I have been on pred. for 3 yrs. 7 months and just got a shot of steroid in my hip. I would think if it was going to help my foot it would have by now? It is mainly the left foot. My right foot has a little burning starting a few days ago. Exactly, feels like my shoes are too tight and yet I am barefoot.
Did you see a foot dr. or your gp. I am losing confidence in the foot dr.
I did see a podiatrist recommend by my neighbour who was a chiropodist - I got homers paid for with a bottle of wine She was a mazing - took oe look and identified a positional problem, provided a pair of carbonfibre inlays for my shoes. They only fitted in trainers or my hillwalking shoes but they did help a lot. But it was pred that really did the job.
I had plantar fasciitis in both feet and Crocs we’re comfortable first thing. The only thing that got rid of them was a Strasberg sock. The fasciitis went and now I have extensor tendinitis. Hurts to walk but I like to walk...feet are important.
Mine turned out to be plantar fasciitis - pre GCA/PMR days - podiatrist give me gel insoles for my shoes - instant relief. Wore them for a while and it gradually went.
