Now it seems I have an oral thrush. Does anyone have an easy solution? I guess it is a pred side effect

There’s lots of suggestions as per Pro but drink plenty of water when you take your Pred & also eat Natural Plain/Live Yogurt as part of your breakfast.
In the meantime get a treatment from the Pharmacist to help clear it up.

It is.
Nystatin from GP usually works - but you might need more than one course.
Thank you. This a self diagnosis as I can't see Gp for a week.
Can you get to local chemist - sure you can buy something over the counter.
It's night here. I'll go first thing tomorrow to pharmacy thanks
Sorry - didn’t check profile!
Salt rinses? Bicarbonate rinses? Several store cupboard options here:
I had two goes with Nystatin but failed, doesn't mean you will of course but I have since been prescribed Alliance - gelclair and it has worked a treat. Not sure you can get it in Oz but before I reached this stage I tried salty warm water as a gargle which kept it down and that was a relief.
Nystatin worked for me.
I have been unable to keep my thrush away so now I take I thrush medicine every single day as prophylactic.
I feel sorry for you . It's a devil of a thing. I have just cleared it up with nystatin drops but to keep it going for another 48 hours find I have to purchase another bottle. I spend all my money now on meds and doctors' visits. Forget about nice clothes a dinners out. Mind you we are all locked down!!
Hi, I've come late to the party... but want to offer my Thrush thoughts.
It's important for me to avoid refined carbs (pastry, etc). Carbs really exacerbate risk of thrush for me.
I keep a small jar of salt water on my bath vanity. (About 2 tablespoon salt to 10 oz water.). Whenever I feel the tingly tongue or other odd feeling associated with overgrowth of yeast, I swish a small bit of the solution in my mouth, spit in sink.
After my first bout with thrush, I decided to be proactive, to avoid yeast infections, and eliminate costly prescriptions.
I do not have diabetes or other metabolic issues, and haven't needed anything else for past 6 years.
