Thank you to all of you for responding to my request for advice, this whole thing is such a learning curve it really does take time and the kind of help/advice that you provide is so valuable.
I have taken note of your comments regarding Codeine, splitting my Pred' dosage, possibility it may not be PMR and so on but just to close I talk to my wife about the advice and comments that I receive from all of you, have done from day one,and she has said for quite some time that maybe I am doing too much and not listening enough. She has her own health problems so naturally I want to protect her by doing housework, shopping etc, anyway it is something to look at.
Today I switched back to Codeine at my 11 am and 5:30 pm stages,by mid afternoon the pain has gone back to the level that I can feel but is not unmanageable.
Thank you to all of you.

We bought a Philips pollen filter a couple of weeks ago - there is a visible layer of yellow on the balcony! OH seems to be coughing and spluttering less after leaving it running in his bedroom on the night setting. And there is definitely less dust on the TV stand and screen! It wasn't cheap (to put it mildly) but it is effective!
First time this year we have both had Hayfever, would think about buying a filter providing they are silent, OH wakes up at a blink of the eye...he hates noise, is loving this no traffic/aeroplanes....don`t mind paying if it works...
I can't hear it on the nighttime setting - you use it on turbo for a while before bed with windows and doors shut to clean the air and then leave it on all night if you need it. Using it in the day makes a bit difference, used it at night for the first time 2 days ago and he says he notices the difference. Not 100% yet but definitely better.
As pro says dust can wait or in my case at least until grandson draws in it!! We do try to compensate for our other halves when they are already not 100% them selves as both me and pro and quite a few others on here will attest but we do need to take care of us or we cant help our partners at all. You wife sounds very wise. You should listen😉. YBB
One of the best gifts to myself when I hit 75 years, was a house cleaner. Have her just once a month so not too costly and with recovery from fractures plus on going PMR and age , I have to say, I couldn’t do without her. With C19, she washes her hands first thing and we stay a room apart. Still it is surprising what doesn’t have to be done. My best on your continued progress. This is a wonderful place to learn isn’t it?
Thank you for your response and yes,it is a wonderful place to learn.I think the real surprise for me is the amount that I need to learn and not just about what ever this illness is,it looks like my lifestyle will need to change amongst other things.
My wife has been suggesting a cleaner for some time, cost isn't an issue really but it probably has more to do with my being quite fastidious and wanting it done thoroughly, something I may need to review.
Once again thank you and of course my best wishes for your good health and a happy and enjoyable quality of life.
